We started of the month with a good weekend at the cabin.
Dad hunted and we hung out
Watched conference
Built Towers
Flew the drone
Saw elk right above the cabin
Ate good food
Played in the sand and on the swings
in-between snow storms.
Then the next weekend we headed to St George for the Mom and Grandmas 20th St George . Marathon. We had a great crew and had lots of fun. We played hard and I even ran a marathon.
Grandma Julie was inducted into the St George Marathon Road of Fame
We made thirst and we all wore them to the induction ceremony
It was a nice ceremony
She was inducted with 3 others
She had to give a speech
and cried through most of it.
Then we ran the marathon
I tried to keep it a secret and surprise my mom
I got stupid IT band issues in July
and struggled to train
I did a few long runs, but it hurt
I decided to try anyways
I wasn't able to do it as fast as I would have liked
but I did it.
It wasn't all down hill like everyone said, lots of rolling hills
We all finished
Dad- 3:29
Whitli 3:30
Cortni 3:36
Britni 3:43
Mom 3:58
Bayli ran an even harder race in the mission field
Actually she does it everyday
She works hard out there.
Jill and Tara and Tayli and Abigail came with us to support my mom
and then rest of us
They watched our kids so Brennen and I could both run
They were saints
I wore my Remember tag to try to remind me that I can do hard things
Every time I struggled I would look at that tag and it would give me a boost.
Every step truly is a gift and I am just glad I was able
and every time I tried to walk I remembered my Uncle Dennis'
words... who would pay to run and race and walk--- hehe
I did walk a bit. oops
They even made us a poster
This is the Poster we made for grandma and it was what was on the back of our shirts.
She is amazing and after finally running one myself I don't know how she is so fast.
We woke up one morning and couldn't find Collins anywhere
She had started out on a mattress on the floor.
We found her on the opposite side of the bed,
under it, sound asleep.
We ended the trip with a big family dinner at Red Robin
Braxton and his Fiance Courtney were able to join us.
Then Sunday we checked out the nature park on the hills
lots of red rocks
Grandma Janice and Michelle surprised us and came and watched us run.
Then we headed to Disneyland
which in and of itself will have to be its own post.
We don't last long when we start a movie
Collins and Daddy sluffing nursery
She won't stay by herself she is a little stinker.
Whitli sent a box of free stuff to everybody
It was all random
but fun to go through it and see the kids excited about it
Photography brought to you by Foster
We attempted to carve pumpkins
Foster wanted a scary mouth and collins wanted a star and a moon
Katelin took some pictures of Collins on a Tuesday when she was at Tara's with her new iPhone
They turned out so cute even with her scary hair
especially considering she hates pictures
We made sea shell necklaces and keychains from the sea shells we found in California that had holes in them, They turned out cute and the girls had fun
Hazel had a sleepover
They have so much fun together
I am so glad they have each other
We tried to have a photoshoot
Hazel was trying to get them to smile
so they mostly were just busting in laughter
We attempted the pumpkin walk
It was pretty crowded and the kids favorite part was the picture taking at the end
We were trying to find Halloween costumes at Grandmas
This is how we roll
Brennen's Grandma turned 80 on October 27. She is an amazing lady and I am so glad my kids are able to know and spend time with her. We had a dinner at Maddox and they put together a nice slide show of her life.
Collins almost wore this as her Moana costume.......but mom put a stop to that.
Brennen spent a lot of time in the mountains looking for a deer this fall. The last day he went out he finally got one. I had been praying all along that he wouldn't get one. But the night before he came home from hunting he was all sad and feelings hurt because he hadn't got one yet. He said he worked and hiked way to far this fall to not get one. So I felt bad so the last day of the hunt he woke up early morning and left to hunt all alone. I woke up around 8:30 and decided to include in my prayers that he would get one or at least shoot at one. Well guess what he got one around 9. Heavenly Father knew how important it was to him. Not sure if the hike out with the deer made it all worth it.
Halloween 2017
The best looking Batman out there
and of course the cutest Doc McStuffins EVER
Foster got to dress up for preschool
One of the kids told him he had Boobs
Foster was a little disturbed by it so we had a lesson on Pecks vs. Boobs
Collins had so much fun running from house to house and didn't want it to end
Foster loved it too.
