The first saturday in September is Lotoja
We were the support crew this year
it was there 15th official finish
and hopefully there last....
Not that it isn't fun
they are just getting too old for this stuff
it stresses me out
We met Brennen at the cabin and went to Bear Lake friday afternoon
it was cold
but the water in the shallows was warm
Saturday morning was a little cloudy and rainy
but they started the race
Got a flat in smithfield that slowed them down
but still met us just before Afton in good time
We stopped at the river and had a great time throwing rocks (aka boulders) in the river
Learning to skip rocks
it was a good day, a long day but a good day
The kids fell asleep on my bed one night while I was folding laundry
I came in and if you look close Collins has her little hand tucked under Foster's arm
No room for Mom
when dad hunts they beg to sleep with me
Foster and Hazen love to play hunting and always dress the part
I took the kids to the park
They played and played until someone else showed up
then they parked there butts in the sand and stared at the other kids while they were playing
They claimed they were playing in the sand but that was hardly the case
For some reason they love to stare
Grandma Julie decked the kids out in new church clothes
Another crazy night of sleep
We hit up the Homecoming parade
and thanks to Katelin
and all the other high school kids that know Brennen
We were overwhelmed with treats
Our thursday preschool gang
Grandpa is in trouble
He signed up for the Bear 100 and didn't tell any of us
I had a patient that knew he got in tell me a week before the actual race
so he got in trouble
he was going to do it without telling us
Not a chance in heck I was going to let him do it alone the last half
so we figured it out and had enough people to pace him
He did great
It was a long 28 hours of worry
I told Collins to give a high five to grandpa
she went right in for the hug
Trying to get a good pic of these too went well obviously
I got a good face
of maybe a little bit of how he really felt
this was halfway
He did It
The best part about the whole thing was the beauty of fall
it was a perfect day
Collins and I one of the many nights waiting for Foster to get in his skate park ride
we tried to get him in the background
it was tricky
but that is him
Brennen went hunting with Rob in Wyoming and of course they came out with something
Our summer project complete, lights and all, it turned out great it mostly gets a lot of scootering but a little shooting happens as well
Brennen helped with corn a couple nights
Where Brennen spent most of his time in September on some peak somewhere looking for a big deer
September flew by, lots of nights with out Dad because of this hunting thing he loves, but we tried to have some fun without him
